Easy & Delicious Homemade Ketchup + Gluten Free

I’m going to single out my husband here and say that he LOVES ketchup! He even puts it on his eggs. YUCK!! I don’t get that one but hey, to each his own right? I love condiments but I’m not a fan of the high fructose corn syrup and other preservatives that are in many of the products you buy in the grocery store. Sure, you can certainly buy organic ketchup and pay a little more and that’s totally cool! But I’ve got an easy and delicious recipe that you can make right at home. I promise you will love it!

Easy & Delicious Gluten Free Ketchup

The key for any healthy homemade condiment is to use clean, organic ingredients which excludes processed sugars. There are many options to adding a little sweetness without all the negative impact.

HONEY is a great sweetener for dressings and condiments. It’s low glycemic and packed with anti-inflammatory benefits.

MAPLE SYRUP is also a great sweetening option. It has antibacterial properties and supports the immune system.

COCONUT SUGAR is a great option especially when baking but you can certainly use it in dressings and condiments. It is low glycemic, high in B vitamins, potassium and zinc.

STEVIA – is a great alternative to sugar but make sure that it is organic and processed properly. Stevia is actually non-glycemic and can help control blood sugar.

These are just a few options for when you are creating recipes in your kitchen

  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 2 tbs apple cider vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tbs pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup filtered water
  • 1 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl
  • Wisk all ingredients until thorougly incorporated and smooth-about 1 minute

The flavor will dazzle you not to mention how quick and easy it is to make!

There is every reason for us to eat healthy and no reason why you shouldn’t create delicious condiments at home. If you love ketchup then try this easy recipe and leave me a comment letting me know what you think!
