“Hippity, hoppity, Easter’s on its way.” I cannot believe it is already time to start thinking about Easter! I have linked my favorite Easter basket finds to hopefully give you some fun ideas. I want to emphasize the true meaning of Easter, so I picked a few things to teach the boys all about the great news of Easter! Hope you all enjoy these ideas! Happy Easter basket filling!

From Scratch Cast-Iron Pizza Recipe

By demand of the poll, I took on Instagram here is my from-scratch pizza recipe! It is an experiment of a couple of different recipes, with my own added twists. This would be a great recipe for hosting friends. You can save a lot of time by making the dough and sauces ahead of time. The dough can be kept in the freezer for up to 3 months. The marinara sauce can be frozen as well for up to a month. this marinara sauce goes great with classic spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parmesan, or a dipping sauce. I hope you enjoy these recipes! Pizza Dough

Makes enough dough for one 14-inch-deep dish style pizza.

Or two smaller thin crust pizzas.

  • 1 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • ¼ cup warm water (95° to 110° F)
  • 3 ½ cups bread flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 cup plus 1 tablespoon room-
  • temperature water
  • Cooking spray
  1. In a small bowl, stir together the yeast, sugar, and warm water. Let stand until foamy, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the flour to the bowl of food processor with chopping blade. Sprinkle the salt over the flour and mix on low speed for 15 seconds to distribute the salt. (If you have a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook, mix on low for 1 to 2 mins.)  (Then increase speed to medium and mix until ball of dough forms.)
  3. Add olive oil, room-temperature water, and yeast mixture and mix until ball of dough forms, about 5 minutes.
  4. Spray a medium bowl lightly with cooking spray. Shape the dough into a ball and set it in the bowl seam side down.  Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place in the warm area until doubled in size, about 1 hour. Preheat oven to 500° F.
  5. When the dough has risen, remove plastic wrap and push down on the dough to release the gas bubbles. Shape into a ball. Spray cast-iron with cooking spray and place on the center rack of oven for ten mins.
  6. Spread a piece of parchment paper about 1 ½ feet long on work surface. Stretch the dough into a 14-inch round on the parchment.

Making The Pizza

  1. When the dough has risen, remove plastic wrap and push down on the dough to release the gas bubbles. Shape into a ball. Spray cast-iron with cooking spray and place on the center rack of oven for ten mins.
  2. Spread a piece of parchment paper about 1 ½ feet long on work surface. Stretch the dough into a 14-inch round on the parchment.
  3. Pull pre-heated cast-iron out of oven. Carefully place 14-inch round dough in pre-heated cast-iron. Drizzle olive oil over dough. Add sauce, Colby jack and mozzarella cheese. Add pepperoni and any other favorite toppings.
  4. Brush crust with garlic butter mixture.
  5. Place in oven and bake until the crust is golden, 13 to 15 minutes. When done brush pizza crust with second coat of garlic butter. Transfer the pizza to a cutting board and cut into slices. Serve and enjoy!! *Chef’s kiss* Favoloso!

Marinara Pizza Sauce

Makes around 5 cups

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/3 cup diced onion.
  • 1 minced garlic clove
  •  1teaspoon salt, more to taste
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper, more to taste
  • One 6-ounce can tomato paste
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon dry basil
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  1. In a large Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium heat.  Add the onion and sauté until translucent, 5 to 8 minutes.
  2. Add the garlic, salt, and pepper and cook for 1 minute, stirring occasionally. Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, and 1 1/2 cups of water.  Stir well to combine.  Stir in the bay leaves.  Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and other seasonings to taste.
  3. Serve on pizza or pasta immediately or let cool and store in in airtight container for 3 days. To freeze place in freezer bags for up to a month.

Garlic Butter

  •  ½ stick of butter
  • ½ teaspoon of grated parmesean cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon of garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon of Italian seasoning
  • Sprinkle of salt
  1. Place all ingredients in small microwavable bowl.
  2. Melt the butter and seasonings in microwave for 20 seconds.
  3. Mix and brush over pizza crust or garlic knots.

Valentines Day Baskets for Boys & Girls

I always wanted to be that mom that made every holiday special.  This year I decided to start Valentine’s Day baskets for my boys. I thought I’d share what I have found and give you my ideas for a girl baskets as well!

I started looking for Valentine’s Day basket ideas on Pinterest.  It turns out it’s hard to find boy style baskets. These are all items my boys are really into now. If your boys are more into Hot Wheels or sports, you can always go with more of their style for their basket theme.

For my girl basket, I picked some cute things I’ve been eyeing for some of my friends’ girls! If your girl likes more dinosaur and car style stuff check out my boy basket!  

I have seen some people talk about how their kids won’t get the fun Valentine’s Day at school that they usually get. So making baskets like these and having a fun dinner can really help make the day special for the whole family!

magnolia banana Bread Recipe

This is the best banana nut bread you will ever eat! Joanna Gaines knows her stuff! It’s rich and cakey! Do yourselves a favor a make this now!


8 TBSP (or 1 stick) salted butter, melted and cooled (I used unsalted)

1 cup packed brown sugar

2 large eggs, beaten

1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

4-5 very ripe bananas, mashed

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp kosher salt

1/2 cup chopped pecans or chocolate chips

1-2 TBSP granulated sugar


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray an 8×8 baking pan with nonstick baking spray or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a stand mixer, beat together the butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla with the paddle attachment until well blended. (You can also do this with an electric mixer.) Add the bananas until combined.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and beat just until combined. Add the chocolate chips or pecans and mix until combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Sprinkle the sugar over the top.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a tester or toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the middle. Let the bread cool slightly in the pan on a rack. Slice and serve warm with butter.

Happy Fall!!! I thought I’d share some of my favorite Fall finds so far!

I love to decorate my kitchen for Fall since that’s where ill start all my Fall time baking. The Galvanized Metal Jack O’Lanterns are so fun for Halloween. If you put an essential oil diffuser inside it looks like fog coming out of its mouth. SPOOKY! The little boys bomber jacket is a must for the Fall! Last but not least how cute is this Leopard print shirt from J.Crew? Pair with a cute cardigan and jeans for the perfect fall outfit!


Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Cookies

I’ve been trying to figure out how to make more gluten-free baked goods lately. I have some family members who have either Celiac Disease or a sensitivity to gluten. I saw this King Arthur’s All Purpose Gluten-Free Flour online and was not sure if it would work. So far I can use it just like regular all purpose flour and it works perfectly! 



2 1/4 cups of King Arthur Gluten-Free All-Purpose Flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup or 2 sticks of butter, softened

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 large eggs

2 cups (12-ounce package) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels


Preheat oven to 375° F.

Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.

Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Enjoy!


Two Infinity & Beyond 🚀

Another year has gone by and my boys have turned two years old! This probably sounds dramatic but some days I really feel like it’s a dream that they are here.

I spent my whole life dreaming about what my kids would look like. How their personalities would be, if I’d have girls, boys, or multiples of each. The dreaming got worse when Robby I got married.

We talked about our future kids all the time.  We had no idea how hard our road to them was going to be. We would do it all over again if we had to.

They are twins but they couldn’t be more different. Their personalities have been very apparent to us since their time in the NICU.  James is always on the go, his brain working a million miles an hour. Cameron likes being in his own little world. Quiet and away from others. He is very good at entertaining himself!

They both have the biggest hearts and love each other the way only twins can.  It has been the best thing in the world being able to witness their minds and personalities grow this past year.  My husband and I want to always honor who they are as individuals.  And make amazing childhood memories for them.


They have brought so much joy and laughter into our lives.  I am so excited to see how much more this two grow in another year.
