I’m a wellness blogger with a focus on mental health.
I went from struggling with my mental health to successfully turning my mental health around completely and learning to maintain it. I have now been given the opportunity to teach others how to live life with mental health issues like anxiety and depression.
I began my wellness journey just like you.
A few life altering events occurred where I found myself at multiple funerals in the span of a few months, and this was the beginning of my ten year struggle with mental health as a 19 year old person.
My lowest point during the thick of the pandemic in 2021.
One day I woke up during my lowest point and decided to turn it around. That is when I started trying to work on myself, spending the majority of my week planning how to get back on my feet physically, mentally and emotionally. I first started by taking a couple weeks trying to get back in with a therapist to treat my depression appropriately. During that time I started implementing a morning workout and eating for nutritional value instead of eating whatever I wanted.
I had previously dreamed of being a blogger.
Ever since I started reading blogs online when I first found Pinterest. I knew it was likely going to include young adult life issues that we commonly deal with or about health and wellness.
A fire has lit within me within the last year. Lit from all the things I struggled with and learned about becoming a happy, healthy person again.
From that fire came my blogging concept; Life With Jen.
I am passionate about the strategy that helped me take control of my mental and emotional health. And I am here to show you how to replicate this strategy, build a plan for your wellness goals, and change your life for the better.
So thank you for visiting my blog and take a look around!
More about me…
I am a 30 year old, unemployed veterinary technician. There were lay offs within my company in mid November 2024 and I am on week 2 of unemployment. It’s going great! I have more time with my partner and pets.
This is my boyfriend and myself last year.
We have 3 tortoises. This is our largest and his name is Marshmallow.
We have two cats. Buster (pictured above) is always in trouble and getting sick! Here he had pancreatitis and recovered after about a week. It was a difficult time for all of us. He’s also had a foreign body surgery before… that’s why I always tell my clients to look into pet insurance when they’re a baby before they have pre-existing conditions!
We just moved from California to Arizona in the summer… 0/10, don’t recommend. We’re still doing our site seeing in Arizona, so if you have recommendations, leave it in the comments or message me on Instagram @jennessdotcom.
Can’t wait to hear from you all!
xoxo Jen S.
